Visa Information for International Participants
Participants requiring a visa to enter Sri Lanka are advised to apply well in advance.
Step 1 – Check Visa Requirements
Check whether your nationality requires an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) or another type of visa through the official Sri Lankan immigration website or your nearest Sri Lankan Embassy or High Commission.
Step 2 – Register for the Conference
Complete conference registration and pay the applicable registration fee.
Step 3 – Obtain an Invitation Letter
After your abstract is accepted and your registration fee is paid, request an official invitation letter from the Conference Secretariat. The invitation letter may include:
- participant’s name
- passport number
- institution
- conference title
- conference dates
- venue
- organiser details
Step 4 – Submit Visa Application
Prepare:
- Passport (valid for at least six months)
- Completed visa application (if required)
- Conference invitation letter
- Hotel reservation
- Return air ticket
- Proof of financial support (if requested)
- Passport-sized photograph
Submit your application according to the requirements applicable to your nationality.
Step 5 – Arrival in Sri Lanka
Participants should carry:
- Passport
- Visa/ETA approval
- Conference invitation letter
- Hotel booking confirmation
- Return ticket
These documents may be requested by immigration officials on arrival.
